In the summer of 2015, I had the honor of participating in a couple of health and wellness sessions at interlochen health and rehabilitation center. The sessions were for those who had been diagnosed with disabilities such as Multiple Sclerosis and some were just beginning to learn about the disease.
It was a lot of fun and a great chance to build my own relationship with the center and gain new knowledge. I’ve had my own experience of disability since I was a teenager, so I can at least relate to them. It’s been a lot of fun to learn new things about my own body.
When I first went to the center, I was nervous because I didn’t know anyone there so it was an unfamiliar environment. Being there I learned about a new way of treating my MS and how I could make a new life for myself with the help of the center.

I’ll admit that I’ve only been here once. That was when I was in the first few weeks of my recovery. The first week I was feeling like shit and I didn’t know how long I could stay out before I would fall back into the “bad” category. I remember thinking I would never fit back in my family and friends for another whole summer. I was only there for a day before I left.
I was told that the center could help me if I could get to a certain mental state. It was the first time I was told this. I think it was before I started to get sick. I’m not sure about that. I don’t remember when I actually got sick. I do remember leaving the place after a few days. I was very confused, so I was sent to the psych ward.
Although I can’t tell you what happened to me, I can tell you I had a lot of headaches, and I was told that it was from the drugs they gave me. I had to be admitted to the hospital. I couldn’t see anything in front of my eyes. It was a very long time since I’d been around anyone and I had a new job. I never got to see my mom again.
The Interlochen Rehab Center was opened in 2001 and treats about 180 patients a year. Most of them are homeless or low-income people who are suffering from drug and alcohol abuse. They usually go through the most basic medical treatments, but they sometimes need surgery and other advanced treatments. They also receive some of the best medical treatment in the state. The rehab centers in Illinois have been ranked among the best in the country.
I guess my father is one of the patients who has received a lot of medical care, but he has not been able to get enough help from the state. I don’t think Illinois is trying to get rid of all of the addicts and alcoholics in the state, but they are definitely trying to get them into better treatment centers where the medical care is better.
One of the ways the Illinois rehab centers try to help addicts and alcoholics in the state, is to put them in counseling. The goal of the counseling is to make the addicts and alcoholics realize that they are not a problem but that they don’t have to be on the streets and that treatment is a way to make a better life for themselves.
