This is our friend and fellow blogger, The Shepherdess, talking about the process of self-awareness. She is one of the few people who has given this process a real name and a clear definition.

We define it as “the process of understanding why we are the way that we are”. This is what our brain and our identity is made of. It’s the reason why we like the people that we do, why we’re doing what we’re doing, and why we love being ourselves.

Self-awareness is the process of understanding where you are in your life, understanding the choices that you are making, understanding the people that you are with, and then understanding how that affects you, and finally understanding what makes things go wrong, how you react to those things, and how you handle those things. This can be done by asking questions, doing research, and by exploring the inner world of your own being.

The most important thing to do in life is to seek out help. When you seek help, you learn to self-reflect on what you are doing, what you are seeking, and how you can change it. Self-awareness is the ability to understand your own thoughts and actions and the decisions that you are making, and then to understand the effects of those.

This can be accomplished through meditation and self-reflection, but also through the power of words and the power of the written word.
