One of the most common questions we are asked is what is srk? This is an acronym for “Standardized Return on Capital.” It is the percentage return that a company has on its capital investment. It’s important to note that this doesn’t mean that it is how much money a company has invested, but the percentage return it has on its investment.
SRK can be calculated by the formula below.

A good company invests in itself. We’ve seen this over and over again over the years. Apple invested in itself last year, and it was a very good investment. Its shareholders rewarded Apple with dividends and other benefits that they would have otherwise been unable to afford.
This time it’s not just the money invested, it’s the personality of the investor. He’s like a kid who likes to play the piano. He is a bit shy, but really likes to play the piano. It’s easy for an investor to say “I’m not a fan of music, but I’m a fan of music.” We have a lot of people who are a bit shy about playing the piano, but they’re very cool.
