RRB NTPC vs RRB Group D – Which is better?

Indian railways conduct recruitment of group A, B, C, and D posts. RRB (railway recruitment Board) organizes group C, and the RRC (railway recruitment cell) organizes exams for group D post. These exams are organized to employ for railway government of India.

The Railway Recruitment Board conducts Group D examinations to recruit for positions such as Helper, Assistant Pointsman, and Track Maintainer. On the other hand, RRB NTPC exam is conducted for candidates having a graduate degree or 12th from a recognized university.

RRB NTPC stands for Railway Recruitment Board Non-Technical Popular Categories. RRB NTPC is to employ for railway department in various different railway units. While RRB Group D is an exam for recruitment of candidates like helpers, track maintainer grade -IV, level 1 of 7th CPC pay Matrix departments of Indian railways.

Education Qualification: 10TH PASS / ITI DEGREE,12TH (+2 STAGE) or it’s equivalent with min 50% marks.

RRB NTPC Selection Process

1st and 2nd stages consist of a computer-based test (CBT) on the provided syllabus. The test contains basic mathematics questions, general awareness and general reasoning questions. If you clear the 1st and 2nd stage, you move to the next stage.

RRB NTPC Syllabus

The RRB NTPC Syllabus is divided into three sections which are General Awareness, Mathematics, and General intelligence and reasoning.

General Awareness Syllabus: There is a descriptive syllabus available on the website, but to sum up the syllabus, the topics under general awareness are current events (news), art and culture of India, general science (class 10th CBSE level), History and Freedom struggles, Physical, Social and Economy Geography of India, environmental issues concerning India, Indian economy, Flora and Fauna of India every minor and major thing related to India.

Mathematics Syllabus: The maths exam section will have basic 10th class topics like number system, LCM, HCF, Percentage, Decimals, Fractions, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss etc.

General Intelligence & Reasoning Syllabus: The general intelligence of reasoning contains topics like puzzles, mathematical operation, coding-decoding, similarities, jumbling, data sufficiency, maps, interpretation of graphs etc

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern

CBAT: The applicants must score at least 70% of marks in 2nd stage and 30 % in CLAT examination to be considered in the merit list. Computer-based application test is for those who have applied for post traffic assistant and station master.

Typing Test: Those who have applied for accounts clerk, junior clerk cum typist, account clerk, senior timekeeper, senior clerk cum typist have to appear for the typing test. The applicant should type at least 30 WPM in English and 25 WPM in Hindi without editing tools.

Document verification: The candidates who cleared the 2nd CBT will have to appear for document verification and have to show documents like mark sheet and qualification

Age Limit: 18 YEARS TO 33 YEARS

Recruitment Category: GROUP D

Nationality: Indian, Subject Of Nepal Or Bhutan

Education Qualification: 10th Pass/Iti Degree

RRB Group D Syllabus

The RRB Group D syllabus is divided into 4 sections- Mathematics, General Science, General reasoning and intelligence, and General awareness. The syllabus for the RRB Group D syllabus is majorly same as RRB NTPC syllabus.

PB 1 –15,000 RS TO 60,000RS

PB2-30,000RS TO 1,00,000RS

PB3-45,000RS TO 1,17,000RS

PB5-1,12,000RS TO 2,00,000

RRB Group D Exam Pattern

There are 4 stages in clearing RRB Group D

Stage 1: Computer Based Test(Cbt)

CBT has basics maths, general science, general awareness and current affairs. The syllabus is almost similar to RRB NTPC.

Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (Pet)

Stage 3: Document Verification(Dv)

If you clear the 1st and 2nd stages, the next stage is document verification, where the candidate must verify their mark sheets and documents.

Stage 4: Medical Examination

RRB Group D also has a 4th stage that you have to clear, and if you clear all these 4 stages, then you will be recruited for RRB Group D.

Now that we have passed the basics while we compare the two RRB. Group D seems like a better choice. But with a higher salary comes a wider syllabus to cover, so you can choose according to your abilities. But accordingly, RRB group D seems like a preferred choice because of the salary, eligibility and wider range of options available for the job.
