The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
I’m a big proponent of stop-and-think, but that only applies when you’re trying to do something that will change your life. We’re not talking about that. We’re talking about habits, routines, impulses, and reactions that are all the things that make us who we are and keep us from becoming who we want to be. And these habits, routines, impulses, and reactions are all on autopilot.
A person with self-awareness is able to exercise a little meta-cognition and say, “Hmm… every time my sister calls me and asks for money, I end up drinking a lot of vodkas. That might not be a coincidence,” a person without self-awareness just hits the bottle and doesn’t look back.
A person without self-awareness just hits the bottle and doesn’t look back. The rest of us are watching our own life, our own feelings, and our own thoughts and actions.
The problem with self-awareness is that we can’t do any of those things because it’s too hard. We can’t control ourselves (we’re not stupid) but we can control our own thoughts and actions. But we can.
We can control our feelings, our thoughts, and our actions. We can control our feelings and our thoughts. We can control our actions because we can stop them by changing the way we feel, think, and act.
The problem with this, however, is that if we’re not able to stop our own thoughts and actions we also cant stop our feelings and our thoughts. As it turns out the “Migrate sentence” does not work. I mean the fact that we were able to affect the way we feel in our minds and in our bodies by changing what we think and when we think, is an incredible thing. But, because we can’t change our feelings (and we can’t change our thoughts either), the Migrate sentence does not work. We have to control our thoughts and our feelings to stop ourselves from going rogue.
A quick recap, I have a few of the same issues with Migrate for example the fact that the one time I’m on the computer, I’m doing a really stupid thing, but then I do it again just to be on time, but it is a stupid thing to do. I’m sure the people who have created the computer will be able to take it up a notch.
We can make the computer do things we want it to do, but we have to make a conscious decision to do them. In other words, we have to decide to do something. The computer can’t just let you run off and do whatever you like, it has to make you aware that you’re doing it. This is the same thing that happens with our thoughts. We can think that we are doing something, but we have to act on that thought.
