The word arthi is derived from the Sanskrit word “arthi” which is the essence of the art of yoga or meditation. Although it is the most often used term, arthi nadhan is more of a practice and an experience. You can find a description of the process here.

The flame slowly begins to move towards the sky and reaches a point where it is almost perfectly straight. This point is called the arthi nadhan point. It is not a high point, but is rather a point of complete stillness.

This is the time when you go to the arthi nadhan point. In reality, you’re simply sitting at the arthi nadhan point, with no idea what to expect. The arthi nadhan point is actually a point that’s not a high point, but rather a point of complete stillness.
